Hello Chorale...
Thank you for wonderful concerts this past Sunday. The second concert
(at Fellowship Square) was particularly nice. As Doc Brown said at
rehearsal, 'everything seemed to come together'.
Kudos to you all...singers and accompanist. The acoustics of the room
were great, and you really did sound good. Keep smiling, people are
watching.
---------------------------
Reminder: Rehearsal Saturday, Feb 22 from 9:30-11:30 AM at Mesa Regal
RV Park, 4700 E Main Street. (just east of Greenfield on north side of
main). We will rehearse in Royal Hall (Not the larger hall where we
have our concerts)...it's located south of the 'fountain'. It might be
helpful to car pool if possible.

One other reminder: We probably do not need to actively recruit any
additional ladies at this time...at least, we want to be selective about
additional singers. We still have room for good tenors and basses.
If folks come to you after concerts asking about joining the group, it
would be best to refer prospective, interested singers to me...rather
than simply telling them to come and join.
It makes it a little easier to control our growth, and to be sure that
the interested singer is a good fit. We currently have 69 singers that
are at least 'somewhat' full-time singers. After the winter visitors
'fly-the coop' we will have only 57 singers (see below).
If we are not careful, we will become unbalanced.... As specified by our
ratio of (soprano+alto) to (bass+tenor). An optimum ratio would
be 2:1.
Our current chorale is composed of:
Basses: 12 (11 + 1 winter visitor)
Tenors: 10 (8+2 winter visitors)
Altos: 22 (15 + 7 winter visitors).....Note: We'll lose about 1/3 of
our altos later this spring.
Sopranos: 25 (23 + 2 winter visitors)
-----------------------------
Some personnel updates:
1) Deb Roberts has dropped out due to chronic throat and vocal problems.
She is a great singer and has been very supportive and is disappointed
that she cannot sing.
2) Darrel Swift has dropped out (at least temporarily) due to on-going
work schedule conflicts. He travels for work frequently.
3) New Singers:
Dick Livesay - tenor/baritone who saw us in concert at Solera
Bill Janzen - bass who saw us at our Crossroads Christmas concert
Angie (I didn't get her last name yet) - Alto who attended the
Fellowship Square concert this past Sunday
Tobie Holden - alto who sang with us several years ago...and has
returned (Hallelujah!).
Gary and Roberta Hutt - bass/soprano winter visitors who saw us at Mesa
Regal last spring
Doug Aumiller - a great tenor who came once but has subsequently had
work conflicts...pray that his schedule clears up again so he can
return.
Thanks for your continued support. I enjoy working with you all and I'm
thankful that the Lord has allowed us to have the Chorale.
Bruce
