An update/prayer request for Dick Livesay (one of our tenors):

 

 

 

Hi All,

I am making this a blanket update for friends & family so please excuse the
lack of personal comments.

 

  Michelle, Cecil and I visited Scott last week and took care of settling
some of his affairs and property disposition.  For those I haven't spoken to
lately, he could not survive radiation and they could not do plastic surgery
on his open wounds so they sent him to an "Extended Care" facility" to spend
his remaining time.  Doctors told him he would not make it til Christmas.
He is down to 84 pounds and losing.  Was very tired when we were there and
was not eating much but signed papers and had his wits.

 Called him yesterday and could not understand him at all; talked to nurse
and she said he was just tired but today I received a call that he had
vomited all day and was not eating so they sent him back to hospital
emergency.  Have been calling ER and they are still running tests including
CT Scan of head.  Told me to call back in A.M. when test results are back.
Nurse was sure he would be re-admitted to hospital.  At least he will
receive better care there but I fear his days are numbered.

  We had planned to return to CA in two weeks but are standing by for news.
Definitely do not want him to spend his last days alone. Prayer is his only
hope and we know you are all doing that and have him on every prayer chain
available.  My prayers are now that he goes quietly and painlessly to join
his mother.
