Good day Chorale,

Thank you all for a very nice concert last night. The choir sounded
exceptionally good. Ann Pastor arrived a little late and said it
sounded so good when we were warming up that she wanted to just sit out
in the audience and listen. Thanks to the soloists for a job well
done. The singers all followed well. I saw lots of smiles and
enthusiastic faces. Thanks for your energy, cooperation, and
flexibility regarding risers, lights, slide projection on some of your
faces, etc. Your attitude makes my job a whole lot more enjoyable.

Pastor Bryan Starner, our sound board operator...and all round tech
supervisor, said you sounded great. He noted that you sounded stronger
than last year. (Thanks to all our 'He-Men'...you really came through.
Please keep it up.) I was very pleased with the orchestra too. They
seemed to really come together last night. Thanks to Larry and Neal and
Denise. The percussion and bass helped us to stay on tempo on some of
the songs that seemed slow last Tuesday.

Special kudos go to Ethan who did an excellent job. He worked hard to
get all the songs down, and it really showed. His accuracy and
confidence translates into your singing with confidence. Be sure to
thank him for his contribution to the group. You may be unaware that
Ethan has taken on the position of accompanist as a ministry...i.e.
without pay. When he first started playing for us, he indicated that he
would like to do this as a way to serve the Lord and because it's so
much fun to get to play. His direct contribution to the group goes a
long way to enable us to hire an orchestra for special events.

We had 470 in attendance, and 74 singers. The offering was
$1022...that's about half of the orchestra expenses. (With the offering
at our concert next Sunday, we should be in good shape.) I heard lots
of good comments about the concert...one of the programs had words like
"Wonderful" "Tremendous" "Beautiful" etc, on nearly every song. I'll
try to tally up the favorite songs, but at first glance, lots of folks
liked "Glorious Impossible" and "When Will Messiah Come?" From the
looks of things, (provided everyone stays well) we'll have about 78
singers at Mesa Regal next week.

Other things:

1) We will be having a party this Tuesday in place of the regular
rehearsal. We'll start about 6:30, and we'll sing a bit probably
starting around 8:15 or so. Please bring your music.
There won't be a lot of singing... just a couple of songs. I would
encourage you to use this time to get acquainted with folks you may not
know. Sometimes the front-row singers don't even recognize some the
singers who 'reside' in the upper regions of risers, etc.

2) For the party, here are some comments from Yvonne (who's heading up
the event):
*	Please make your food dish to serve 12, exception, beverages and
breads
*	Please bring a serving piece for your food dish
*	A basket will be available for donations for those not bringing
food.

3) Next Sunday's concert begins at 7:00 PM at Mesa Regal, 4700 E Main
Street (just east of Greenfield on the north side of Main St.). Please
be there by 6:00 PM. It has been productive to be able to have an extra
time of rehearsal/warm up prior to the last two concerts. Note that
there will be chairs on the risers so you wont have to stand for 90
minutes straight.. If you have guests coming, remember to tell them
that parking is a bit scarce so it may be a good idea to plan a little
extra time. You can park on the small streets around Regal Hall...just
don't block anyone's driveway.

Have a great day,

Bruce
